Meet The Owner: Kayla

With well over a decade of professional grooming experience, Kayla’s journey to building The Barkside has been driven by a lifelong passion for animal care. While her path included veterinary technician training and earning a Bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Biology, her heart always led her back to the grooming table.

Kayla’s diverse background, including roles as a zookeeper and field researcher gives her a unique perspective on animal behavior and specialized care. Together with her husband, Zack, she turned her dream into a reality, creating a salon that prioritizes both artistry and animal well being.
